Parking Information

Car Parking
Liberty Science Center’s parking lot can accommodate 750 cars. Overflow parking is available nearby. The lot is owned by Liberty State Park and operated by Central Parking. Fees are $5.00 per day for cars and vans.

The parking lot is staffed only during operational hours. We do not recommend leaving your vehicle after hours.

Bus Parking
Our parking lot can accommodate up to 60 buses and offers head-in parking, so riders never have to cross active traffic areas. Fees are $10.00 per day for private buses. School buses arriving on school days may park for free. All others, including school buses arriving on weekends, pay $10.00 per day to park.

Overflow Parking
If additional parking spaces are required, guests may park in the NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail parking lot at the Liberty State Park station, located just a three-minute walk from Liberty Science Center, directly under the Turnpike overpass. | Learn More

For bus overflow parking, please inquire at the parking lot kiosk.

Guests with Special Needs
A small drop-off area is available near the Science Center entrance for dropping off guests with special needs. Please enter from Phillip Street, drop off guests, and then proceed to the parking lot entrance. This area is not a drop-off location for parents with strollers.

Staff is available for weekday assistance. For more information, please e-mail us in advance and allow at least three business days for a response. | Contact Us

Please note: If you pay to park at Liberty Science Center, you will receive complimentary parking at the ferry lot for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, and vice versa, on the same day. All parking proceeds go to the "greening" of Liberty State Park.
