Adopt-A-Class

The Adopt-A-Class program is sponsored by Liberty Science Center’s Corporate Members and provides opportunities for corporations to help further the mission of Liberty Science Center. Corporate Members sponsor trips to Liberty Science Center for schools and organizations, who probably could not visit without assistance. Adopt-A-Class uses a portion of the corporate membership dues to underwrite class trips. (Adopt-A-Class does not cover the cost of transportation, shows or lunches.)

Educational and non-profit groups are eligible to apply for Adopt-A-Class funding. Due to the great demand of applications Liberty Science Center has received, each funding opportunity is limited to 30 people. Each teacher is asked to submit one application for their class. Even though we receive multiple applications from one school, each application is treated on an individual basis.

If you are a public school in New Jersey, you may already participate in the Partnership Program, which includes free admission to our exhibition halls. Click here to check. If you are not sure, see your principal or superintendent for details.

To apply, complete the application along with a statement of need on your organization’s letterhead stating why you need Adopt-A-Class sponsorship and how it will benefit your group. Send it to:

Applications for the program are accepted all year. Demand for field trip reservations is great. Please allow a few weeks for processing of your application. Acceptance into the Adop-A-Class program does not guarantee that a sponsor has been found for your class or group. You cannot reserve your trip until you receive complete confirmation of your acceptance and placement with a sponsor.

Applying for the program

Here is the application for you to print. Please be sure to complete the entire form and answer all questions. Incomplete applications will be returned for clarifications, which will delay the review process. Applications must include a cover letter and statement of need.

Statement of need/intent (required)

Define why your organization needs a sponsorship, how your group will benefit from visiting Liberty Science Center and how science education fits into your school curriculum. Applications received without a statement of need on letterhead will be returned.

Adopt-A-Class sponsorship is offered on a first-come, first-serve basis. You will be advised if you are placed on a waiting list. If you have any questions about the Adopt-A-Class program or the application process, please contact:
