Parking Information
Car Parking
Liberty Science Center’s parking lot is owned by the State of New Jersey and operated by Central Parking. It can accommodate 750 cars and overflow parking is available right around the corner. Fees are $7.00 per day for cars and vans, and are applicable during both daytime and evening operations. See the note about Liberty State Park parking, below.
The parking lot is staffed only during operational hours. We do not recommend leaving your vehicle after hours.
Bus Parking
Our parking lot can accommodate up to 60 buses and offers head-in parking, so riders never have to cross active traffic areas. Fees are $10.00 per day for private and school buses. See the note about Liberty State Park parking, below.
Overflow Parking
If additional parking spaces are required, guests may park in the NJ Transit Hudson-Bergen Light Rail parking lot at the Liberty State Park station, located just a three-minute walk from Liberty Science Center, directly under the Turnpike overpass.
For bus overflow parking, please inquire at the Science Center parking lot kiosk.
Guests with Special Needs
A small drop-off area is available near the Science Center entrance for dropping off guests with special needs. Please enter from Phillip Street, drop off guests, and then proceed to the parking lot entrance. This area is not a drop-off location for parents with strollers.
Staff is available for weekday assistance. Please contact us in advance at 201.200.1000.
Please note: The parking lot adjacent to Liberty Science Center is owned by the State of New Jersey. If you pay to park at Liberty Science Center, you will receive complimentary parking at the ferry lot for Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, and vice versa, on the same day. Ask for a parking voucher when you exit the lot. All parking proceeds go to the "greening" of Liberty State Park.
