All About Construction
Saturday-Sunday, June 27-28
Nothing gets young children more excited than the chance to see giant construction vehicles up close. The second annual ALL ABOUT CONSTRUCTION "Touch-A-Truck" event at Liberty Science Center lets youngsters -- and adults who are young at heart -- "visit" massive machinery, enormous earthmovers and fantastic front loaders. Climb aboard construction equipment and ask professional construction workers all about what they do, how they work, and what training is needed to work in the industry.
The Construction Industry Advancement Program of NJ is coordinating this special weekend, held rain or shine, that will include multiple interactive experiences such as meeting engineers, trying out surveying equipment and more hands-on activities that demonstrate the many kinds of tools construction workers use every day, as well as the importance of those tools in "constructing" a better future for New Jersey.
When: Saturday -- 9:30 am - 5:00 pm; Sunday 11:00 am - 4:00 pm
Where: Parking Lot and Jennifer A. Chalsty Center for Science Learning and Teaching
Cost: Free with paid admission
