What is Live From... | Cardiac Classroom | Neurosurgery | Kidney Transplant | Robotic Surgery

From the first incision to the last suture, your students can witness the excitement and drama of science in action. Through real-time, interactive videoconferencing with a hospital surgical suite, your students get a front-row seat to cardiac surgery, neurosurgery, a kidney transplant or robotic surgery -- as it happens!

The surgical team of doctors, nurses, technicians and physician assistants will answer your students’ questions while they work. From the edge of their seats in our new 100-seat interactive theater, your students can ask and respond to questions as they learn about surgical procedures, equipment and devices, educational paths leading to careers in the medical profession, and healthy lifestyle choices. Handheld keypads allow students to respond to questions and see the tallied responses. Surgical instruments just like those used by the professionals in the operating room are passed around for students to examine. The experience is supplemented with a Teacher’s Guide aligned to national, New Jersey and New York curriculum standards for science and workplace readiness.
