Jennifer A. Chalsty Center

Elevating Science Education

The 20,000 square-foot Jennifer A. Chalsty Center for Science Learning and Teaching contains everything a science teacher needs to engage, educate and inspire students of all ages. Created to offer exciting insights into cutting-edge science, this unparalleled facility features six flexible-use science labs equipped with everything from oversized plasma screens to videoconferencing capabilities. You and your students will work alongside resident scientists on the latest research in plasma physics, biomedicine, marine science and more.

Advanced computers stream real-life data to students, allowing them to experience firsthand the thrill of discovery as it takes place. Our Global Microscope uses real-time and recorded digital media to help your students grasp larger-than-life concepts such as global warming, tsunamis and changing atmospheric conditions. Our Anatomical Mircoscope, which displays life-sized, three-dimensional images of the human body, will provide a unique perspective on how things work in students' own bodies.

Learning continues in our new 100-seat Interactive Theater as you and your students interact directly in real time with surgeons in the award-winning Live From... surgery programs.

Science educators will feel right at home in the Teacher Learning Lab, surrounded by a multitude of print, media, software and online resources just for them. Even novice science teachers can gain certification and prepare for their new careers through the Gateway Training Program. Everyone can benefit from the comprehensive educational resources at the new Liberty Science Center.
